McMullen Tobacco Cigar Store 1871 

Michael McMullen. Originally from Alloway, Scotland come to Ellenville in 1858, it was not until 1871 that this brick building next to the present Shadowland  Stages was built in which he operated a wholesale and retail tobacco business, "M.McMullen Wholesale & Retail TABACCO & CIGAR STORE" selling many cigars here of his own making. After his death in 1894 the business was continued by his widow and later by his son. The "Back Room" of the   store for many decades served as the gathering place for village fathers and their discussions, nicknamed "Tammany Hall"

In 1965 Mr. Parrino. originally from Sicily moved from Brooklyn and opened a traditional Sicilian Pizzeria, that he operated until 2015. "La Bella’s Pizzeria" famous for LaBella's slice of a traditional Sicilian pie, and a place for students to meet for a quick bite for about five decades. 



 Taste the best dishes of traditional Italian cuisine, like our famous house-made Pappardelle pasta and hand cut steaks. All served in a warm welcoming atmosphere. Simple decor typical of the best Italian Trattorias.
